Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

Hi families! I'm Sydney, a 26 year old student at the University of Toronto. I am currently finishing up my Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and living in the downtown core. I have been taking care of children since I was old enough to work, about 10 years now. I have experience with all ages, starting as young as 6 months, up to school age. I am comfortable with all aspects of a daily routine for a child, and am also able to manage different needs for each child. I find working with children to be extremely rewarding, and it has definitely taught me a lot about being patient and understanding, but what I have learned the most is just how intelligent children are. I love being able to be a part of each child's growth, and watching them learn and know I played a role in that is very rewarding! I love to travel and have had the privilege to live abroad both in Costa Rica and Paris. I have also backpacked through Central America and visited other parts of Europe while living abroad. Traveling has given me a new perspective on the life I live in Toronto, and it has also helped me grow into the person I am today. I think exploring the space you are in, no matter if that is at home or abroad, is very important and there is so much to learn. Taking children to the park and letting them explore the world can give them this same feeling and I think can help foster this love of adventure. I also love to bake, am very interested in nutrition and healthy, clean living, as well as yoga and meditation. Right now I am looking for a summer nanny position, full or part time, ideally during the week only (but I am a bit flexible). I am looking to work with a family that is close to downtown, but I am willing to travel a bit further for the right family! I do have my driver's license, but no car.
