Hello! My name is Frances! I am a Master's graduate seeking work in Toronto on a part-time or full-time basis for a minimum one-year contract. I am currently working with a family one day a week (2 children ages 1 and 2.5) and looking for another family to supplement my time and income. I am unavailable on Fridays because of my commitment to this family. I am right for your family if you are looking for someone to first and foremost be a caregiver to your child(ren), provide tutoring help with school work (including high school and university applications if necessary), be a mentor for your kids and be someone they will trust and love. I am also willing to do tutor/mentorship work only for the right family who may not need caregiving services, however my hourly rate would be higher. About me: I love children, and they love me! Play is important for children to grow and learn and the children I work with will always have fun and educational activities. I am always actively engaged with the children I care for and I can always anticipate and meet their needs. I spend most of the day outside with kids, so long as the weather isn't too treacherous! I have a membership at the AGO and love visiting with kids for programming or just for fun. I am a G licensed driver with a clean driving record. I have a knack for picking out the best produce at the market, and you might catch me humming a tune while cleaning the kitchen or folding the laundry. I remain calm in emergency situations and I am trained to help with anything from scraped-knees and boo-boos, to more serious situations. I also love pets of all kinds! I have a bunny myself but I will take care of any animal and have experience looking after cats, dogs, and small critters too. I am a vegetarian and I am a great cook (if I do say so myself). I live in Bloordale (Wallace/Emerson) would prefer somewhere in walking/biking distance unless you are able to provide me with transportation, in which case I am willing to travel to you. I am open to occasional evening and weekend work as long as I have enough notice. I am also open to travelling with your family and I have an up-to-date passport. More than anything, I am a loyal caregiver. I am seeking a caregiver position because I want to make a difference in the lives of little ones and I love to teach and see kids grow to love school as much as I do. I believe in encouraging children as they grow, listening and connecting with them, and providing you with the comfort knowing that your children are in good hands. Experience: Before university, I was the nanny to two single-mother families of children ages 6-11 for two summers. I loved taking the kids outside to play, doing crafts and science experiments with them, reading stories, and helping with homework and music lessons. Sometimes we would do special trips to the museums and theatres! I was responsible for keeping the house clean and cooking breakfast and lunch for the children. I am a skilled musician who can help teach piano, violin, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, and vocal. I love school and have a knack for getting kids excited about learning! They will never be bored with me- I will always have fun games and activities planned! I grew up with a swimming pool so I am a strong swimmer (Bronze Medallion level) and comfortable supervising swimming activities.
