Nanny in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hi! My name is Kathryn, and I'm a twenty year old woman looking for a full-time nanny position in Halifax, Nova Scotia, located within walking distance of a bus stop, that starts in or shortly after September 2019. I've been babysitting since I was twelve, when I completed the babysitting certification course. I've also worked as a lifeguard indoors, focusing mostly on teaching, for about three years. I have an estimated 1500 hours of teaching experience with children aged 3 - 5, plus parent and tot classes (aged 6 months - 3 years). Because of this experience, I have lots of training and practical experience with both major and minor first aid situations. I've also worked at City of Ottawa wading pools for 4 summers full-time (5 by the end of August 2019), the last two of which I've spent in a supervisor position. This job involves running games and crafts, administering first aid, keeping up with paperwork, and planning and running a special event once every summer. In terms of babysitting, I babysat for a few local families roughly twice a week from the age of twelve to sixteen, but stopped once I started lifeguarding. I was also a dog walker for seven years for one of my neighbors, involving 1 or 2 half hour walks each day. I have some experience working with kids with epilepsy (not recent), autism, and anxiety disorders. I speak English, a little French, and some pretty terrible Russian. I'm no gourmet chef, but I can do the basics and can work within dietary restrictions as needed. I am also comfortable with laundry/housekeeping/pet care (experience with cats and dogs) as required. My hobbies include running, swimming, reading (mostly mystery and history these days), writing, and occasionally geocaching. I'm a quick learner and would love to work with your family!
