Hello, My name is Chalsey I am a 26 year old positive, compassionate and responsible woman. One of my biggest passions is caring for people especially children, elderly, women in need, and disabled. I was born in Hanna, AB. I moved to Okotoks when I was 3 years old and lived there until I was 17 then my mother and I moved to south Calgary. I have been living on my own for 8 years I have my daughter 3 years ago. She is a very bright and loving 3 year old girl. I absolutely love being a parent I think it’s the greatest blessing. We have a structured routine and I hold strong values, teach good behaviours and instil positive life lessons. We have a very happy and healthy lifestyle. I am a very fun loving person we play as much as possible. I love to be creative and active. I think play, creativity, and teaching healthy lifestyle is important with children but most importantly to be there 100% for love and support. I work very hard and take responsibilities seriously. I am definition of a planner/organizer. It just comes naturally to me. I also have a huge passion for music and art. I have a guitar, ukulele, harmonica and Im learning how to write music. Whenever I take kids out, either my daughter or when babysitting, we end up with a few more kids to play with because I think kids are attracted to my energy because I love to interact with children. I have been very interested in health for the last 6 years, I completed the health care aide program at ABES here in Calgary in 2013. I also updated my Cpr/First Aide course recently. I have gained a wealth of knowledge in natural remedies and vitamins, nutrition, fitness, cooking and am very knowledgeable with food sensitivities. I am very detail oriented I like take situations and problem solve. I am a team player, I am big on fairness and communication, but I like to look at the big picture and find solutions I think that’s where leadership is a great characteristic to have while caring for children. They need structure, to know what is right and why, and to have options. Child related Experience [2007-201...] [Babysitting/housekeeping] I began babysitting 9 years ago for neighbour and family friends. I began watching friends children, and my niece from the age of infancy when I was 19. I was a full time nanny for 15 months for a family with four children, this position ended last June due to the father being laid off. And lastly, I had my own child 3 years ago. Some situations I have encountered; I worked with four children throughout the ages of 2.3, 4, 6, and 7.5. And I have my own child so I have been through many situations. Weather it be negative behaviours, being aggressive with other kids, having temper tantrums. Or kids being sick and cranky, not wanting to do something and having to talk them into it. Children accidentally hurting themselves and caring for a wound. One thing I found helpful is that when kids are away from the parents in some of these situations, for them to have something that smells like a parent or something to resemble the parents. The Qualities I look for in a family are that they are just respectful mainly. That everyone is treated with dignity. I really like to have open communication and really appreciate when communication is done well, things are explained and are expectations and boundaries directed clearly. That the safety at the house is of importance and for food to be available or allowed to be bought. Questions I have for the family; What are you looking for. What are your expectations and boundaries? Things they want me to know about the children? Allergies? Favourite foods and games? Favorite characters? Do they go on vacation? Family rules?
