My commitment to children’s learning and positive development has been proven during my years as an Early Childhood Assistant and 1:1 Enhanced Staff. These years of experience along with my enthusiasm, dedication, and love of working with children makes me a perfect fit for your family. Currently, I am an Early Childhood Assistant in a school-aged room of over twenty children at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. This degree allows me to further understand child development and the specific needs of children at different ages. I am a consistent positive role model who strives to provide a stimulating, safe, and encouraging environment for children. I consistently insure that the indoor and outdoor space reflects a high standard of cleanliness, children’s interests, and has necessary supplies or equipment accessible. As an Early Childhood Assistant, my organization, creativity, and multitasking skills allow me to successfully program activities for children. I have experience doing so in preschool, kindergarten, and school-aged classrooms. I have provided support to children with Autism and helped them integrate into the larger classroom environment as an 1:1 Enhanced Staff. This experience helped strengthen my skills in altering activities to ensure each child’s needs are adequately met. I helped those children develop social skills, personal hygiene skills, and abilities to cope with transitions through behavior modification strategies. Progressive interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills have led to years of positive rapport with children and guardians.
