Hello! I am a current university student who is back in Toronto looking for fun, meaningful employment. Throughout high school I held several part-time jobs and volunteer experiences. That being said, my studies were always of the utmost importance for me. Because of this, my skills in organization and time-management were critical for my success in school which led to being an Ontario Scholar and being offered several post-secondary scholarships. Education always took top priority, giving me skills I could then use in the workplace. My first job was at Kew Park Montessori Day school, a local elementary school for children aged 3-12. There, I was primarily an After-Care Supervisor meaning I looked after the children after school until their parents arrived. Working with large groups of children required concentration and diligence to ensure the safety of every child. This position also required the entertainment of the children! This included playing with them outside with park equipment and toys. During, and after, the job at the school I worked at Pegasus Dance Studios working as a ballet class assistant. After years of dancing at the studio, I was able to put my skills to work to assist in classes with children aged 3 to 14. My responsibilities included demonstrating exercises to the children, acting as a role-model for the students, and communicating issues and improvements with parents. Open communication was imperative for the success of the children, and always improved the relationship with the studio. From these two jobs I acquired several regular babysitting clients, several of whom I looked after long-term. My years of experience babysitting gave me skills working with children of every age and with several children at once. Many of my jobs included preparing dinner for the children, entertaining them for the day (including day trips and small excursions), and putting the children to sleep. My experience and enthusiasm made me a popular and recommended babysitter. In short, I am an experienced and eager childcare worker and I would love to help out any families I can.
