Hello, My name is Gabby and I am a 22nd year old student finishing up my last few courses at Wilfrid Laurier University (virtually of course). For the past 3 summers, I have worked at Ryerson Summer Day Camps where I was able to work with children between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. For my first summer at Ryerson I was a children's counsellor in which I was given a new age group of children every week and a new specialty program to teach them. My second summer, I worked as the Leadership in Training Facilitator in which I taught the eldest campers team-building and long term athlete development skills. And, last summer I worked in the office, aiding parents and children's with any concerns they might have as well as administration issues. I have also completed a placement as a part of the curriculum for my minor in Psychology where I was able to work in a pre school classroom of refugee children. For summer 2020 I originally had signed a contract to work at Camp White Pine however as the pandemic had other plans, the camp was unable to run this summer. Right now, I am simply looking for a chance to help out some parents and make some children's days a little brighter. Feel free if you are interested or have any questions!
