My name is Daria (Dasha), I am 18 years old. Fluent in Russian and English. Advanced level of Spanish. I have a sister who is 10 years younger than me, so technically I have 8 years of experience as a nanny! Seriously speaking, I understand that it can be hard to trust an 18-year-old girl enough to care for your children, so I will try my best to convince you that I am a responsible adult rather than a child myself. I moved out of my parents' house at the age of 13 to move to the UK and study in a boarding school there. From that day on I learned to take care of myself and became hugely responsible as no one else was there to control my actions for me. I graduated in June 2018 with an average of 90%, most think that this information is irrelevant for a position of a nanny, yet I believe that it is crucial. Kids ask complicated questions and giving an educated answer to a "why is the sky blue" question that every child asks at some point in their life can provide a vital base for the understanding of the world. I have a great deal of experience in childcare. First of all, I have been a volunteer teacher in Horfield Primary school ( Bristol, UK) for over a year. Responsibilities included teaching children individually and in groups of 20-25 students; Helping to manage learning disabilities. Consequently, I became a very skilled teacher and will happily assist your children with their school work. I am very aware of Health and Safety basics, having done a countless number of risk assessments during my placement, consequently, you can rest assured your child will be safe and sound. Secondly, I have been a Peer Mentor for over two years, which involved a 6-week training in mental health and counseling (certificate of completion can be provided upon request). Responsibilities included assisting younger students in their struggles: both mental and educational. A 7-year-old international student was my mentee for a year, throughout which I assisted her in dealing with homesickness, friendship issues, and educational struggles. I know and can effectively use calming techniques, which come in really handy with toddlers. I aspire to study developmental psychology and I thoroughly enjoy working with children.
