Hello my name is Nathan. I'm 21 years old. I am looking for a change of pace, a LIVE-IN opportunity. I have exceptional skill with kids of all ages, I have been working solely with children for more than 3 years. I know I love working with kids. I love bonding with them, teaching them things, and them teaching me things. I think it is one of the most fulfilling career paths but I am a little weird in that way :) I always like to be doing something. I like cycling, hiking, and working out (when I'm in the mood ;)). I love singing and playing my guitar! I spend a lot of time with my guitar, probably too much. With kids I like to kind of 'wing it'. Don't get me wrong, I am not a sit and watch t.v sort of babysitter. I just think that the best learning moments are through discovery. I like to facilitate as little as possible and leave it to kids to be creative and in that way they become more independent and self-sufficient. An important aspect to me is respect. Discipline and respect, in my opinion, go hand in hand. When it comes to discipline I try to treat kids according to what I believe is in their best interest to be treated (confused? I know). In short, kids respond differently to different kinds of authority. You can't just yell at every kid because sensitive kids will not learn but instead become more insecure. You can't just go easy on hot head kids because they will walk all over you and cause more trouble.
