Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

Hello! My name is Alison and I am a full-time university student with summers absolutely free! I am 19 years old currently studying philosophy and English at the University of King's College in Halifax, but next year I hope to transfer to Ryerson or George Brown in September and change my major to theatre. I grew up in a wonderful home with two loving parents and a younger sister. I'm very passionate about working with kids! I have been babysitting children ranging from ages 0-10 pretty consistently since I was 12 years old. Last year, I worked with the Toronto Children's Chorus as a Conductor's Assistant, which meant I got to teach sightsinging, theory, and songs to kids ages 7-9. Working with a large number of students at one time made me more energetic and responsible. My contract with the TCC lasted one year, and in that year I also learned many little songs and games that children of all ages enjoy! I have my Bronze Medallion and CPR training, so I feel comfortable supervising swimming. I also worked as a volunteer camp counsellor last summer and was trained in safety in terms of children's mental wellness and crisis management. Additionally, I have had this growing need to be a mother since I was a kid. Watching children learn is so wonderful, especially if you do the teaching! I feel continually thankful to be able to be close with many children (family friends/babysitting clients), and to watch them grow. I would love to have the experience of being a nanny.
