Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hello! My name is Erin, I am a 4th year bachelor of school work student at Carleton University. I was born and raised in the town of Kingston, Ontario until starting university in 2014 which is when I made the transition to Ottawa. I am the youngest child out of 4 siblings. Although I am only 21, I have babysat since 2009, and as of 2013 I have been with a family of 3 girls in Kingston as a full time nanny in the summer and part time nanny during the school year doing after school pick up, snacks/ dinner, homework help, laundry and light tidying. I started nannying with this family when the youngest was around a year old and the oldest was 5, the youngest is going into grade one in September for 2017 and as of this year and the oldest has just turns 10. I still visit the girls when I am back in Kingston, around holidays and during the summer months. I have had the pleasure of watching these girls grow up. For the past year 2016-201... I have also been nannying for a family in Rothwell Heights in Ottawa. They have two girls ages 7 and 11 and a dog Henry who I walk before going to pick the girls up from school. Their spoken language at home is english, although both girls attend a french school and I help them with their french and english homework, they practice their instruments a few times a week for me and then we do fun crafts and games. I do light housekeeping for the family such as dishes, laundry, and cooking as needed. My family is the most important thing to me, I respect family values and beliefs. My primary language is English, however I am bilingual in French as well, I have a blended family with both languages and understand the importance in maintaining both languages if the child(ren) are raised bilingually. I love working with kids in a fun and safe environment. I am honest, trustworthy, caring and responsible, I do lots of activities, crafts and games with the children I have been with in the past, and try to get them outside as much as possible when the weather is good. I am comfortable helping with homework and cooking/ cleaning as needed. I have worked with children of all ages ranging from 8 month olds - 11 year olds. I plan activities and day trips according to the parents rules, the children's interests and the ages of the children so that everyone enjoys the activities. A little more about me, I grew up partially in the city and partially in the country, I have a goat and sheep farm in Kingston, and I have a pet goat named Ella aka Goaty Girl. I was a competitive gymnast for most of my life. I also went to school for the artistically gifted for two years, I auditioned and got in for singing but then found my love for visual arts. I have been skiing and snowboarding since the age of 4 with my family. We go every year and have gone all over Canada.
