Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Hello I am an energetic, caring and organized student looking for babysitting/nanny hours when I'm not in class. I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Victoria in a Bachelor of Science. From my past work experience with children, I have developed a variety of skills such as: ensuring a safe environment for all activities, ensuring healthy meals for breakfast and lunch, and inspiring excitement and curiosity in a variety of sports and activities. I am a highly motivated, passionate and hardworking individual who is ready to take on any task put before me! Please keep reading to learn more about my past experiences working with children! I have worked for two families as a part-time babysitter and full-time nanny during the summer. For six years, I worked with a family with one daughter and one son ages 4-10 and 6-12 respectively. Those two balls of energy helped me learn to adapt to the changing needs children have at different points in their development. The second family I worked for had two daughters that were three and six at the time. They required more guidance in problem solving and mediation which taught me many different strategies on how to settle arguments over everything from snacks to who got their turn at speaking. For two summer terms, I have worked at the non-profit organization Kids Up Front as a summer student. Kids Up Front takes donated tickets to sports games, music events, the ballet (anything really) and gets them in the hands of kids who could really use a lift. These kids are affected by poverty, abuse, illness, and disability. They are newcomers to Canada. They endure trying conditions, sometimes without any family support. I have been incredibly lucky to work with children from a very wide range of backgrounds. It is easy to say it has been one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had! Additionally, I volunteer as a crisis line worker, with an organization that provides help to youth across Canada. This means that I have an especially keen listening ear and can help your little one work through those tough emotional times, in a non-judgemental and supportive way if they need it. . I have a very flexible schedule and am open to working any number of days that you need me. I look forward to hearing from you and your family! Thank you for your consideration.
