Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Hi hello! My name is Serena. I am bubbly, creative, fun-loving, reliable, and hardworking. I adore children because they bring out the goofy side in me! Currently seeking: a long-term full time or part time position to start in September or October 2023. Available for consistent casual jobs. For date nights I am more than happy to stay late. **LOCATED IN: Victoria, BC** I love kids and have worked as a caretaker for over 10 years. I have this experience babysitting, tutoring, and working as a nanny in Alberta, BC, and Germany. Additionally, I lived in New Zealand where I worked as a live-in nanny aka an Au Pair. I attended the University of Alberta and majored in Sociology. Some of my hobbies include reading, watching movies, writing, going on walks, watching sports, lounging on the beach, swimming, and I LOVE to travel. In summer 2019 I went to South America. I explored Nicaragua, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. It was unbelievable! I have a newfound love for seafood. When I'm not traveling (or dreaming about post covid), I enjoy spending a large amount of my time with friends, family, and cuddling my dog. He's quite mischievous. In the past I volunteered at a community preschool in Edmonton where I was a teacher's assistant for children 3-5 years of age. Furthermore, I worked at an after-school care centre, but more of a summer camp, for kids ages 5 to 14. I was hired as the point person to include and involve literacy in the programming. As well, while abroad I tutored English to adults ages 18 to 35. Continuing on, I have some experience with those with Down Syndrome, children on the spectrum, and with learning disabilities. I am great with those that are Hard of Hearing or Deaf and understanding their needs. In terms of signing, I have basic knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and try to make it a priority to practice. I would love to learn more about your child's needs and how I can help. I have worked with children that have all sorts of interests from Lego to piano to playing "House" to kids that just love reading a challenging book. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them learn about the world as they grow. Best of luck in your search :-)
