Nanny in Toronto

I am an energetic and extremely organized student looking for work in the evenings after 6 ( also willing to work overnight), and on the weekends (anytime). I have a daytime nannying job (found through this site!) already lined up for the work week, so am fine with regular or sporadic hours. I will be moving to Toronto from Halifax Nova Scotia on June 28th to work and get comfortable in the city before starting my first year at The School of Toronto Dance Theater's Post-Secondary Program. I sincerely enjoy working with kids, my passion in life is dance but I also hope as an individual to eventually pursue a career teaching it to children of all ages. I love being able to inspire and mentor children in this art form, but I also genuinely have such in incredible fun time spending time with them and getting to know them as people. My goal as a caregiver and role model is to help their parents and guardians nurture them to grow as unique individuals. Work and Volunteer Experience Includes: Volunteer Teaching Assistant at the Leica Hardy School of Dance (2011-present), for Ballet and Creative Movement. Experience with teaching, coaching and helping pre-schoolers-teenagers to achieve their goals. Often times is independently in charge of up to 12 children at once. Punctual, and disciplined; always getting there early to help set up the class room beforehand. (Currently assists approximately 10 hours each week) Babysitting, Nanny and Summer Nanny (Spring 2011-present), with experience providing childcare for multiple youth with ages ranging from 3 months to 13 years for various opportunities. Also maintains a consistent part time daytime employment currently working two days a week throughout the school year (since February 2012), and was a part time summer Nanny for the past three summers (2013, 2014, & 2015). Tasks have included general cleaning, picking the older children up from school (and often multiple friends), making meals, organizing activities/games for differing ages, genders and personalities, and walking the dog among other things. Not afraid to use imagination and creativity, well maintaining an energetic and positive outlook in many differing stressful and spontaneous situations. Volunteer at Out of the Cold in Halifax Nova Scotia, every other Tuesday, at non-for profit shelter for homeless individuals. Cleaning, organizing and team work. (From January 2014-April 2014) Summer volunteer at Lakeview Homeowner Associations park program in August 2013. Independently organized theater games for wide range of ages and then proceeded to teach them to staff and participating children and youth. Worked a newspaper delivery job starting at the age of 8, it the Welland Tribune in Welland Ontario. Had the determination and ability to be focused and committed to a goal at a very young age. (2006-2007) Education and Training: Entering first year at The School of Toronto Dance Theaters Post-Secondary Program this upcoming fall. (September 2016-May 2019) Home-Educated Grade 12 student currently registered with Nova Scotia Department of Education. Completed an AP biology exam in 2014 by independent self-study, showing intelligence and hard work as well as the ability to work towards self-motivated long term objectives and ambitions. (2004-Present) Certified in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C with Red Cross , will renew upon expiry. (May 2013) Extra Curricular Interests : Dancer at the Leica Hardy School of Dance, a member of the pre-professional dance company for emerging artists KiDanCo as well as performing with Symphony Nova Scotia: The Nutcracker for four seasons. Spends over 20 hours per week training and working hard to achieve goals, demonstrating the ability to be extremely committed, focused and disciplined. (2004-Present) Member of MITE for families, a drama group for Home-Educated youth. MITE also focus on bringing awareness to social issues and human rights well incorporating these messages into its performances and learning sessions. It also teaches the ability to think on the spot, and working inclusively as a team to solve problems. (2009-2010, 2012-2013) Nova Scotia Talent Trust scholarship recipient to study dance in the fall. I am looking for a job to save up for my future, but i also hope to work for a family that i truly enjoy being able to help live their lives to the fullest.
