Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

A little about myself: My name is Journey Harris-Robinson I am a 24 year old female residing in Sault Ste Marie. I moved to my hometown of Sault Ste. marie Ontario in early may 2020 due to the covid pandemic. To follow I am also covid vaccinated. During my free time I spent time outside hiking or walking, heading out to the camp to relax, spending time with friends and my most favourite hobby cooking. I can cook anything from a simple box of kraft dinner, to an entire barbecue feast, a luxury salad, specialty diabetic deserts, shepherds pies, pasta dinners, and honestly anything that I set my mind too. About my childcare experience: I have been a full time day camp counsellor for several years working with children ages 5-13. Alongside I have worked as a live in nanny for 2 years as well. I have multiple certifications which are necessary when providing for children, these include First Aid and CPR/AED levels 1&2, Emergency First Aid and CPR levels 1&2, Bronze Cross Certified, WHIMIS, Graduated Ted Nolan & The Tim Hortons Childrens Foundations Five Year Leadership Program, Attends yearly Rotary Youth Conferences alongside being bilingual in both French and English. My ratio for watching children is 6-1. I also have experience working with children with anger problems, as well as children with certain learning disabilities. About my own childhood: I was born in Iron Mountain Michigan, USA and moved to Canada with my mom when I was two. As a child I participated in a wide variety of extra curricular activities across the spectrum listed below: Competitive Dance (ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro) age 3-17 Competitive Baseball (fast pitch) age 6-17 Recreational Soccer age 4-9 Skiing/Snowboarding age 10-present Choir age 7-10 Piano grades 4-8 When I wasn't in school or at sports/extra curricular activities I was usually playing outside with my cousins, or doing things with my mom and aunt. Why I like working with children: I can guarantee I am a highly skilled individual for my age, and childcare is and always has been my most enjoyable job, but its been something I've been doing for so long that it just comes naturally to me. I can't deny that I love helping children develop and grow into the best that they can be. I love children and enjoy their company immensely and find nothing is more rewarding than taking care of them. I believe in creating a positive, happy environment for children, one in which they feel safe and can thrive mentally, emotionally and physically. Disclaimers (I feel its necessary to let potential parents know of the following): - I DO have a tattoo on my right arm, if you aren't okay with tattoo's I can wear long sleeve shirts while nannying. - I am also a G-class driver and have my own vehicle for transportation. - I have a clear criminal record check and can get upon request; the criminal record check I currently have is from 2019. - I am available for live-in as well.
