Dear Sir/Madame

Nanny in White Rock

Dear Sir/Madame Having spent the last years broadening my experience of the English and Spanish languages in the USA, UK and Canada as a Nanny/ housekeeper and house manager , I now feel that it is an appropriate time to go and utilise the skills I have developed, for the benefit of my personal goals, primarily by becoming a Childminder. I am therefore introducing myself as a prospect candidate for the nanny position that is currently open in your household. My name is Monica Cortes (37 years old) and I come from a very gorgeous, but conservative country (Chile).I come from a family where manners and education are very important. I am introducing myself as a prospect candidate because I truly believe I have all it takes to be a good nanny after being a childcare and childminder for so many years. I am very responsible, nurturing, reliable, honest , well educated,( I have a degree in Modern Languages and a Master in Audio-visual Translation)I am hardworking, well travelled ,friendly and fun to be with( that must be my Latin side).I am very affectionate therefore affection is very important to me and I guess this is something cultural because Latin American people are very warm. I always like to feel part of the family and not just a provider. I do not do drugs (never did).I am a non-smoker and I drink only socially. I am very passionate about my job and about life itself. I enjoy the smallest things and I give my best and 100% in whatever it is I do. I am very friendly, outgoing but I also like discipline and good habits. I am very organized and love neatness and cleanliness. (Good habits in general), extremely organized .I actually enjoy cleaning and I like the houses that I work at are spotless. I am upbeat & positive. (I am a self starter) I have worked for a high scale family in United States (Virginia), where I have been nanny and a household manager. (That is cleaner, buying groceries, taking care of the children, cooking. Pretty much running the house until parents come back home). I was in sole charge of the house and the children (three boys). I have also worked as a nanny/housekeeper for a French family in London, UK (Fulham area) Taking care of Thibault, Achille and occasionally Jules (aged 3 and half, 5 years old and 3 months respectively back in 2009). Currently I am working with a wonderful family here in British Columbia. I take care of three wonderful children Stella and Sebastian (twins 5 years old) and Alandra (3 years old). Ive been working for this family for almost three years. The only reason I am leaving my job is because soon they will not need me anymore. I have always been part of the family and I know that parents want to spend as much time as they can with their children and not to be worried about household chores. This is reinforced by practical experience of working with children and different ages (from 1 month old to 9 years old). I\'ve also worked with 7 month old twins (Au-pair) and here in Canada. I love children in general. All of them sole charge. Toddlers are the cutest and very playful and love to learn new things. I like that age very much. Not only do I possess excellent language skills that come handy to help children with their homework, but also the ability to keep firm discipline and also very skilled when it comes to disciplining children. My childcare method is that I believe in \"The teachable moment\" You can turn everything into a teaching moment. From asking the child to hand you the red spoon, counting the blocks as you away, stacking books and asking which is the tallest. The child\'s would is full of things to teach and learn, I try to teach the right thing at the right moment. My discipline belief is \"The true meaning of discipline is to teach. After discussing with the child the consequents of the action an appropriate penalty would be decided. As in time out or loss of a privilege. The goal is to keep the focused on the error made not on the punishment. That way the child remembers the consequents of the action; hurting someone, putting himself in danger, not the punishment. Teaching the child to make better choices in the future. I understand that the safety and well being are very important to you and I have always had an impeccable behaviour with children I have taken care of. I can provide you with any information about myself so you can run a background check. I have a First Aid Certificate that took back in the UK, but willing to get a new one if necessary, and I am also willing to undergo any drug tests or anything because I know that your children safety is number one priority, so when parents go to work, they are completely sure that their kids are in good hands, in hands of someone trustworthy and loyal. I am fully bilingual so I believe that is also a good advantage because I am aware that the ability to speak Spanish or any other Modern Language is becoming an increasingly important part of the global development of the world. I am very flexible and adaptable, which I feel is a strong quality to possess. I have an open work permit, and I am willing to relocate for the right job opportunity. Feel free to contact me anytime you believe is suitable. Your sincerely Monica Cortes Villavicencio I have worked for a high scale family in United States (Virginia), where I have been nanny and a household manager.
