Dear Host Family, I am Karen Uy, I am 24 years old, single and proud to be a Filipino. I am the youngest member in our family of 3 siblings we are all girls. After I graduated my secondary level I took Caregiving in our City , because of the opportunity that its free, it was a program of our City Government and at the same time I worked in Food and Beverages Services as a Service crew. To at least help my parents I worked as Junior Instructor in Rappelling and Rescue for one year and six months. Then as a Call Center agent for quite sometime. In my experiences in childcare I can say that I really enjoyed it and I am currently working for Orpiada\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s and Lobas\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Family since 2011 and I am the one who comes with their Eldest son of Lobas\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' kid to go to school, He\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s in Nursery. I prepare his food from breakfast to dinner because his parents are both working. In Orpiada\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Family I took care of their youngest son, he\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s just 1 year old. his Dad is working Abroad and his mom is working in our City Hall. Well, for me seeing children playing around, happy with what they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re doing and giving me a big hug are the most wonderful experience. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve been to an Orphanage (HOSPICIO de SAN JOSE) during my On-Job-Training and are different ages, there was 0-6 months old babies, 6-12 months old, 1-3 yrs old, 3-6 yrs old, 6-12 yrs old,13-19 yrs old. They also have Special Children there in the Orphanage which is the one who had touched my heart because they are very sweet and loving children, Yes they are Special ones and yet I know that they need also to have an extra and special love and care. And they also have eldery there. And I also experienced handling those elderly. But in experiencing childcare it helps me to improve my skills, and gives me an additional knowledge in taking care of children. In my training they taught me how do bathing to babies or infants, how to take care babies when they are sick and also in doing first aid to them. I do bathing, activities like playing and development skills with them, and do some intellectual activities like teaching them at the same time they play, learn and enjoyed it. And most specialy is that how will you communicate with them, know what are the baby\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s needs or a child\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s need. I am a single lady and my nephews always asking me to go to mall. they want me to play with them, assist them in doing their homeworks. All of these are the most happiest time in my life. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve been taking care children for almost 4years now because I was the one who took care of my nephews since they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re little baby and now they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re grown up and wants to go out with me. And I provide all around household chores such as cleaning the house, washing dishes/clothes, laundry, cooking and among others. As for my dialect, I can speak and fully understand Filipino and English languages. I am a very patient, honest, hard working and determined person, I wish to be an Au-pair because I have the experience and proud to say that I have an extended patience when it comes to taking care of children. I assure you of good service and outstanding performance for your children as well as to your family. My hobbies are reading magazines, books and listening to the music. My personal interests is to work and see your beautiful country. To experience the culture, traditions and new lifestyle. I also want to meet new people of different race. My future plans is to help my parents/family financially. I hope you give me a chance to work as your Au pair for your family. Thank you and have a pleasant day. Respectfully Yours, Karen Uy In my experiences in childcare I can say that I really enjoyed it and I am currently working for Orpiada's and Lobas' Family since 2011 and I am the one who comes with their Eldest son of Lobas' kid to go to school, He's in Nursery.
