I have two brothers, ages 16 & 12, both have grown up with learning disabilities and aspergers. This environment has given me patiences and allowed me to develop ways to understand, care for, and work with them at a level they are comfortable with. I also have 5 nieces and nephews, one also with special needs, that I have cared for on numerous occasions. Apart from family commitments, over the years I have been involved with vacation bible school through church organizations , and more recently mentor young girls at a youth drop in centre who are struggling to find their identity and self-worth as they grow and develop.
