Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Dear Family, I have always found working with children to be a positive and rewarding experience. The majority of my childcare experience comes from Nursery and School placements as part of my Early Childhood Education training with children aged 3-7. I attended placements for two full days per week for almost two years and worked with up to 30 children at a time which helped me develop my multitasking and organisational skills. I assisted children with their school work, physical education, songs, games, stories, arts & crafts and the promotion of healthy living while also encouraging imaginative and role play games. It is because of this that I am confident in my ability to care for and find lots of fun learning opportunities for children.! I naturally gravitated towards becoming a professional nanny as working with less children means a better opportunity to see them flourish as individuals, get to know their own little personalities and see them develop. My mum also enjoyed being a nanny for 13 years and I spent my first few years of life with a family she worked for. As we all still keep in contact I have witnessed how being a nanny contributes to a whole families life. I find it personally fulfilling, knowing that I have made an impact on a child\'s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and this is something I continually develop my knowledge in. Children’s natural curiosity leads them to ask a lot of questions which means I too am always learning as I often have to look up answers. I admire children\'s honesty, creativity, endless energy, resilience and positive outlook on the world. Children bring me lots of laughter with the hilarious things they say. I am very much enjoying Vancouver after relocating from Scotland to be closer to family. It’s so nice to meet new people including other nannies and I would be happy to arrange play dates if you think this would be appropriate. I take joy in all kinds of arts and crafts activities and basically any opportunity to put my creativity to use. I love to travel and keep active by getting outdoors for walks to the beach and bike rides along the sea wall. I am fond of cooking and trying out new recipes. I am patient and recognise the need to adjust to the individual needs of a child. I believe in positive reinforcement and encouragement to manage behaviour and am happy to divert a toddlers attention where possible but firm over any safety issues that may arise. I have recently completed my First Aid CPR/AED training through the Canadian Red Cross and have also completed numerous food safety courses within the last year. I have a recent Protecting Vulnerable Groups Certificate (enhanced criminal records check from Scotland). I am looking for a friendly family with whom I can make a close and trusting working relationship with. I hope to have great communication where we can share stories, challenges and discuss discipline and routines and work together to maintain consistency. Yours Sincerely, Ariana. I also was an occational babysitter for a little boy from the age of 1 to 2 and half and a little girl from the age of one and a half to three years old and helped out with children in my family. I dressed them, changed nappies, prepared snacks and meals and bathed them. We also had lots of fun doing arts and crafts, reading, playing lots of games, baking and going to the park.
