Dear Family, Greetings! I am Myrna from the Philippines and currently in Switzerland. I am looking forward for a Nanny/ Caregiver jobs in Canada. I am currently an Au pair here. Previously, I worked in Singapore Red Cross Society ( Red Cross Home for the Disabled) for 2 years and here are my duties/ responsibilities. Providing personal care to the client such as bathing, tooth brushing; execute other grooming activities and activities of daily living. Administering prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the staff nurse. Escort clients to hospital/clinic for appointments. Transferring and lifting clients from bed to wheelchair and vice versa. Keeping progress notes updated, and reporting any changes in clients conditions to the staff nurse. Turn and reposition bed ridden residents/ clients alone or with assistance to prevent bed sores. Daily vital signs monitoring ( Blood pressure, Pulse rate, Respiratory rate, Temperature, SPO2) Providing oral, NGT, and PEG feedings. Clean residents dormitory, beds, lockers, and change bed sheets daily and whenever dirty. Respiratory Care (suctioning of phlegm). Wound Care Colostomy Care Sending emergency cases to the hospital/ Fetch discharged residents. Prepares and fetch the spastic childrens before and after school. Provided day-care with disabled and mentally challenged children of age group 6-17 years old. Participate in staff development programs. Ensure safety of the residents. Assist in recreational and social programs. Undertake any other duties as assigned. CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT: 1. Respond queries on the telephone from volunteers and members of public service. 2. Meet and greet clients and visitors. PROJECT/PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT: 1. Support staff in assigned programme/event. 2. Assist in programme/event and operational duties. OTHER DUTIES: 1. Assist to provide orientation for new foreign staff, 2. Perform unpaid duty in event of an emergency or when required. Year 2009, I worked as a Nurse fellow in the hospital specifically in Surgery Ward, Surgery Intensive Care Unit, ENT, Ophthalmology Ward, Pedia- Surgery Ward, Orthopedic Ward, Private Rooms. My responsibilities includes; Take charge of a unit in the hospital when there is no head nurse. Gives nursing care to acutely ill patients. Makes daily rounds with the medical staff. Gives injections and administers medicines and treatment to patients as ordered by the medical staff. Observe patients reaction to medication records the same and reports to the physician. Admits and discharge patients. Takes temperatures, pulse and respiratory rates and blood pressure. Records and reports symptoms and conditions of patients. Helps in the distribution of food and feeds those acutely ill patients. Gives health teaching to patients, student nurses and attendants and helpers. Attend professional meetings and conferences. Communicates with the head nurse regarding the need for supplies and equipment for providing nursing care. Makes rounds with the outgoing nurse. Supervises student nurses in their performance of nursing procedures. Takes charge of the environment of the patients. I know my experience will be different and I will do whatever I can. I would love to live with a warm loving family, to meet new people, work with elderly/ children and experience a different way of life than the one I am familiar with. Basically, I prepare them for school, taking a bath and bringing them to play group, babysitting at night when needed are some of the daily routines.
