Dear families, My name is Samantha and I am currently finishing my senior year at Michael Power St. Joseph High School. Over the past four years I have been thoroughly enjoying working and volunteering with children 3 to 14 years. I am both a certified swim and ski instructor and I continuously plan creative activities for all my students. Working with children is a blast and I love watching them improve and grow to be stronger individuals. I am a very caring, compassionate and hard working individual filled with energy. I am available throughout the summer and look forward to hearing from you! For the past five years I have worked with children from the ages of 3 to 14 years in various activities. For the past four years I have been teaching skiing, as I am a certified ski instructor. Over eight weeks I teach a group of eight children how become better skiers through creative and fun lessons. I also teach swimming for many different groups of children. I create various specialized lesson plans for all the students so they can become very strong swimmers and enjoy the sport as much as I do. I also am a youth program co-coordinator for a youth group for students in grades seven and eight. About 30 students attend every week, with a team of leaders to help guide them! This is where I help lead students through a series of games, talks, testimonies and small group activities weekly. I was also a camp counselor in charge of 12 grade nine students at the Michael Power Grade nine orientation camp. This was an overnight camp for three days where the students participated in many activities, sports games and motivational talks. My job as a leader was to make sure all the students in my cabin were safe and participated in all the activities, I helped solve conflicts, and organize cabin games. Overall I have many different experiences working with children of various age groups, each of them unique and a blast!
