Nanny in Mississauga, Ontario

Hi there, My name is Rafaela Moura. I´m happy to introduce myself to you, I´ve worked as a Sitter in my home country, Brazil, for about 1 year caring for a 6-month-old girl until she was 18 months of age. Also, I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer in a poor community NGO. Where I was a helper monitoring a group of 30 kids more or less, including babies, toddlers and teenagers as well. In 2015 I joined the Au Pair in America Program and I had the opportunity to live one of the most fantastic experiences of my life. I spent 18 months taking care of 2 sweet boys. The 2-year-old Nicky and 5-year-old Peyton in New York. Throughout this time, I was able to share my knowledge and experience with my host family whom I´m still in touch with and have a great friendship and we’re almost like family. Every day I would wake Peyton up, prepare him for school, feed him breakfast, walk him out to the bus stop. Nicky stayed with me all day and we used to play both indoor and outdoor games, go to the library, parks, sometimes we would meet some friends for a playdate. I was always ready to come up with different ideas to have fun. After lunch Nicky used to take a nap and I used to take this time to do some light housekeeping such as do and fold the kids laundry, do the dishes and sweep the kitchen floor if necessary and clean after the boys, when nick woke up it was when Peyton came back home from school and we had some time to hang out and have fun until their parents came home from work. This was the usual routine until I returned to my home country but add to that a few trips to movie theater, birthday parties, some overnight while the parents were away. Besides working as a nanny and au pair I have an eleven-year-old sister who I have always taken care of since she was born I can tell that it feels like she is my own. I love to spend some of my free time with her going out for some ice-cream, going to parks and I love to read for her, Leticia is also my English student, it's a pleasure to share my English skills with her. Nowadays I’m encouraging her to learn and practice skateboard which she loves. Nowadays I work as an English teacher in my home town and I’ve been doing this for almost 5 years. I also have an eleven-year-old step-daughter Amy who lives in Mexico and visits us every year. Last time she spent 7 months here in Brazil and we had a great time. She and my sister are like best friends and it feels great to get to be involved while they grow. Its really good to be part of if teaching and encouraging them. It fulfills my soul and makes me feel that I am doing right. This is just a small sample of my trajectory. I am graduated in Human Resources so I have a superior diploma. I am a native Portuguese speaker and I speak English fluently and I’m able to communicate in Spanish. I have first aid and CPR training certificate. Right now I´m caring my first own child which is due on November 4th, I know this may be a little bit discouraging for some families but my husband and I are really committed to make this experience be great for both your family and mine as well.
