Nanny Job in Lethbridge, Alberta

We are searching for a caregiver for our two boys, Cohen who is 8 and Brady who is 5. Both boys are due to begin school in early September, Cohen entering Grade 3 and Brady beginning Kindergarten. Our basic childcare needs would include before school with both boys, transporting to school, pickup of Brady after morning Kindergarten, and afternoon care at our home with Brady. Cohen is enrolled in the after school program and will attend that most days. PD Days and other school holidays or early dismissals may also necessitate caring for both boys, together. Hours would be 7:30-5:00, Monday to Friday. We are flexible for the time Brady would be attending Kindergarten and could either have you perform minor housekeeping or meal prep or would also be open to you taking that time off. About our boys: Brady is a fun loving and energetic boy who loves being outside, swimming, and going on adventures of all sorts. Brady is diagnosed with ADHD and ODD and can be difficult at times. We’ve found that setting him up in the right situation, which really means keeping him busy and allowing him to be involved in the planning process for your daily activities, has worked best. He does well with structure, though the right caregiver needs to be flexible to go with how he is feeling at that moment. Forcing him into an activity or an outing when he’s not in the right frame of mind can be challenging. Brady is very intelligent and loves puzzles and games. He also enjoys baking! He loves helping out and following the recipes. His condition is such that we know the transition to Kindergarten will be a challenge for him. He will require a lot of support and your afternoon with him may need to be tailored to however his morning went at school. He may just need some downtime to decompress. Getting to know Brady and work with him will be an excellent and rewarding opportunity for a caregiver with the right skill set. Cohen is in school and after school care full time. Cohen is energetic and loves playing sports of all kinds and being outside, though like most kids his age, also likes some downtime to play video games. The dynamic between the two boys can be challenging, particularly given Brady’s condition. Cohen is pretty patient and understanding, but is still an 8-year old boy who sometimes can struggle with handling his brother. With the relative unknowns of the upcoming school year, we really are looking for someone who can be committed to our family and is able to be flexible to the potentially dynamic situation brought on by Covid-19.
