My name is Rachel and I am currently in grad school to become a child clinical psychologist. This summer I have a flexible schedule with my studies, and in turn am looking to do what I love most, spend time with kids :). I have vast experience working with children of all abilities, in both the professional and personal capacity. I am a proud aunty of a 20-month-old, and have provided child-care in many settings.
I have a breadth of knowledge of child development and flourishing as a result of my intensive university studies. I currently work at the Centre for Psychological Services in Guelph, where services for both assessment and therapy interventions are provided for children and adolescents. Previously, I conducted research at Sick Kids hospital where I routinely interacted with children experiencing chronic pain. On top of this, I spent six years working as swim instructor and lifeguard for children between the ages of 6 months through to adulthood, during my undergraduate degree. Throughout my diverse experiences, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with children of all needs and capabilities. In addition, I have experience program planning and co-ordinating child activities as a camp counsellor in summer months. I have also tutored high school students, and worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses, and am therefore competent in aiding learning efforts.
Simply put, there aren't many nannies available that can offer the same level of practical experience, and theoretical knowledge, about how to best care for your little ones.
Given my current work load and responsibilities, I am seeking a part-time nanny position in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, available immediately until September. I also have a car, and LOVE outdoor adventures. I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about how I can best meet your needs.

Rachel is an exceptionally caring person who is driven by her passion for working with children. I supervised Rachel in her role as a swimming instructor for five years and can confidently vouch for her dedication to offering quality programs to children of all ages and abilities. Typical work duties in this role included: safely supervising small groups of children for 30-45 minute lessons, utilizing an individualized approach towards helping each student meet their unique needs, and catering to a wide variety of different learning styles through constant creativity. Her professionalism and enthusiasm as an educator are rare talents that I have not seen in others and she was frequently requested as a favorite instructor by parents who observed how well she worked with their children. Rachel's skills and wonderful personality make her an excellent candidate for any role working with children.
Rachel is extremely warm, caring, and responsible. She has a natural ability to make children feel understood and comfortable. As a current doctoral student in Child Clinical Psychology, it is easy to see where she's acquired such advanced skills in empathizing with and caring for children. However, with her calm and kind demeanor, people are instantly drawn to her and welcome he presence. I would recommend Rachel as a caregiver for children of all ages and feel any parent would be lucky to have her watching over their child.
