Who I Am: Hi there! My name is Riya and I am a graduated student from Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School. My experience lays atop of a foundation of being enthusiastic about helping and working with other people. My strengths are in child care, communication, leadership, and teamwork. When I am responsible for a child, my priorities acknowledge the importance of their health and safety in order to reduce the risk of putting a child at the harm of injury or endangerment of their own wellbeing. I established a strong reputation as an individual that parents would trust in taking care of their children. Description of Skills: I have worked with many families with children between the ages of 3 and 9 over my last 7 years. I've been a full-time sitter through summer and have built great relationships with the families I helped over the years. I attended a culinary summer school and have experience in safe and proper preparation of meals. Parents have confided in me to take their children to their extracurriculars and back, as well as completing their assigned chores, homework, and following bedtime routines. I am absolutely confident in being a trustworthy role model since I have introduced a lot of teaching programs that address important social issues to students in elementary school. Along with ensuring a child is safe, I have been trained in First Aid and CPR procedures and will always maintain a clean and safe environment, especially during their activities. Above all, I have organized several activities for children that involve making use of open fields or the outdoors so they spend their time effectively and beneficially.
