Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hello Families I am available for immediate start. I am seeking full-time or part-time employment Monday to Friday. No evenings and no weekends. If part-time, I will need to transition to a full-time position when one is available. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I have been working for a comapny as a Home Support Worker since January 2021. As Home Support Worker I travel to clients homes and do light housekeeping, meal prep and groceries as required. I also work on a needed basis as a Nanny for a mom whom I worked for full-time time in 2020 caring for her two children (now 7 years old and 4 years old). I worked for a family as a Nanny in December 2021 caring for one child. My I engaged the child (4 years old) in daily play and activities that helped to encourage and develop physical abilities and skills. I took the child daily for at least 1 hour a day (weather permitting) either to the backyard or to a nearby park for outdoor play. In March 2020 .I worked for a mom caring for her two children. As their Nanny I engaged with them in their play. I prepared their snacks as well as their lunch. On some days I took them on a walk around the neighborhood. I worked with the oldest child (5 year old) for an hour each day on lessons. Lessons include; activity books/sheets, colouring, reading, practicing writing, numbers and math. Once a week the lessons are done online through websites that have age appropriate activities. In October 2019 I worked with a family looking after two children. Some of my duties included; engaging with the children in their play and taking the oldest (3 year old) to nearby parks and to a play group twice a week. I also have provided light housekeeping duties. In October 2018 I worked with a family looking after one child who is on the Autism Spectrum. During my time with this family I have taken on new experiences of learning how to work with a child on the spectrum. I have attended some speech therapy sessions as well as, participated in his behavioural support therapy at their house. My duties as a Nanny have included; engaging the child in play that helped him learn at his level and developmental abilities (puzzles, matching games, games to practice his vocabulary and more). I also took him on walks in the neighbourhood to explore and to nearby parks. I did housekeeping duties which included; meal prep, laundry, dishes, mopping, vacuuming and more. In August 2017 I was a Nanny for twins. Duties included; engaging the children in indoor and outdoor play (puzzles, colouring, blocks, water play and more). I also prepared breakfast and lunch, did diaper changes, dishes and light cleaning. I started my career as a Nanny in July 2017 where I worked with a family for 6 months to care for one child. Duties included; indoor play, taking the child to parks, laundry and groceries. I graduated from Algonquin College in 2014. Prior to graduating my experience has been working in various settings, including daycares and schools as a supply educator and as a Registered Early Childhood Educator and has provided me with the required skills to work with children. In this field I have gained knowledge on educating children using play based planning and curriculum planning. It also includes; teaching self-help skills (dressing, eating and more).  I am organized and professional in providing quality child care and have excellent communication skills. I am confident with observation skills and assessment of children’s learning and development. I am dedicated to helping children in their learning progress and meeting their individual needs.
