Hi to the amazing families out there, My name is Tugce and I am a teacher from Germany. I am German with a Turkish immigration background and I was born in Augsburg in beautiful Bavaria. I speak German, English and Turkish. I studied to become a teacher also at the University of Augsburg and graduated 2017 with a Master of Education. During my studies I worked a lot in Afterschool Care programs with different age groups and students. I moved to BC in April, 2018 and I lived before to Victoria 2 years ago, in Vancouver. I was working there as a Before and After-school Care Manager with my lovely assistants at the Emily Carr Elementary School for 2,5 years. After moving to Victoria, while I was waiting to get the BC teaching certificate, I worked as an Educational Assistant here in Victoria. At the moment I teach for the School District in Victoria as a Teacher on Call and mostly work at different High Schools all over the city. I love the challenge of teaching different subjects and not knowing what to expect. It is a really good opportunity to grow and learn from my amazing teacher colleagues. I have a passion for Education and I am so happy and lucky to be able to work with the amazing families and students I get to work with. Their growth, smile and happiness makes me thrive. My hobbies are spending time with our two Mexican rescue pups, going camping, hiking and traveling with them. Yes we don’t have kids so they are our fur babies. I like going to the gym and swimming pool and cooking is one of my other passions. As I have mentioned before I have Turkish immigration background, therefore I enjoy creating dishes from the Turkish cuisine I grew up with and make it vegetarian or even vegan, as we do not consume any meat and not a lot dairy in our household. I am starting to teach also German at the Victoria German School this September and I am super excited to be part of this. I am available most of the afternoons and evenings after school (besides Tuesdays) and also most of the weekends. I am more interested in casual work like baby sitting, After-school care activities or other things.
