Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

Hello Families! I guess at this stage in my professional experience, you could consider me a 'career nanny'. I enjoy working for families where I am not only the nanny but I am also a friend to laugh and play with, a shoulder to cry on, someone who can keep your children safe. I love children of all ages but especially love children around the infant – toddler age. My favorite thing is being able to see children learn a new part of life every day. I have over 10 years of childcare experience which includes both professional and personal experience (ie. friends and family). I have a very large extended family with over 30 younger cousins. Growing up I was always the on hand babysitter to my family and through my teen years I moved into fulltime paid positions. Now that I'm getting older most of my friends are settling into marriage and children and I once again found myself the first to volunteer to help out when needed. Education is one of my values and I am always willing to help your children with homework. I’m known to my friends and family as a bit of a neat freak and you will quite likely find me naturally tidying your place too haha! I’ve also been known as an excellent cook and have experience in cooking with dietary needs such as gluten free, dairy free, organic eating, and to those who are health conscious. Being is active is something I'm big on. I love to engage children with activities like reading, physical activities, and especially playing outside. I believe that fresh air does wonders for children! I also like going out to playgrounds, libraries, parks, beaches, zoos, and basically any other type of fun excursion we can conjure up! I am an avid crafter and love incorporating arts and crafts when working with children. I love to have fun and I'm a bit old fashion as I don't believe in children watching tv or using electronics as a sole source of entertainment. Of course on sick days or when cold weather hits we can pop in a movie and cuddle up on the couch though :). I have experience with children 4 months - 14 years old and also have experience in caring for children with behavioral conditions such as ADHD and Autism. I am fully vaccinated and have First Aid, CPR, and WHIMIS certifications. References from previous families are available upon your request. I am also happy to complete any security/police background checks if your family is willing to reimburse for the fee. Please note: I do not drive.
