Personal I am big on family and learning. I come from a family of six siblings and I am one of the oldest, so I was always around children and infants growing up. I know the chaos that can ensue in a large family but also the wonders of a schedule and different organizational tools to make things less overwhelming. I'm easygoing and enjoy reading, arts and crafts and dancing in front of my mirror to my eclectic self-made playlists, and these are activities that I could share with the children I look after. Professional I am currently pursuing a career in medicine after just finishing a pre-med course out in rural BC. However, working with children and their families has been a big part of my background. My life experience has always made me curious about why humans behave in certain ways. I am most fascinated by the unique developmental capacities of children, especially those illustrated in cross-cultural studies on child development. This passion led me to my minor in Education and BA in Psychology. During my undergrad, I held various positions where I worked with children (e.g., Birthday Party Host, After School Club Coordinator and Family Support Worker). Following my BA I then entered a pre-medicine program to prep me to apply to medical schools in Canada. I am looking for a flexible schedule as I have a full-time shift-work job for 4 days on and 6 days off; consequently, my available days shift week to week.
