Note: I have been away for the past year while I round up my undergraduate degree, but am accepting inquiries about part-time and full-time work from April onwards. Hi hi! My name is Naomi, and aside from adoring working with children, I’m an artist. I played the violin for approximately ten years, and I do photography, sculpture and public art installation work. I also occasionally make jewellery (rings, bracelets, necklaces) and crochet big projects. If you are looking to get your children artistically engaged, that’s my specialty! I also have experience with Montessori teaching but no formal education in that regard. I do everything from baths to meals and playtime indoors or outdoors. I also have experience with various stroller types, including lugging around an infant and toddler in a double stroller around the park and up hills. I tend to hear that I can be a calming presence for infants especially. My mother works used to run a school and daycare but has recently moved to Toronto and works at a Montessori school there. I have always worked closely with her, so I have experience with newborns to middle-school-aged children and familiarity with Montessori classroom set-ups and tools. I also have twin nieces who I took care of as babies and toddlers. I have taken care of up to three kids at a time. My priority is always making sure I can be of the most efficient use to the parents, so we will always have transparent and clear conversations. I understand and speak Spanish, but I am not fully proficient. I am, however, an excellent cook and baker. I am also CPR and child care first aid trained (and scored full marks on the exam). My driver's license is over three years old, but I have been driving for almost five years (beginning with learning both manual and automatic at driving school). I also have experience driving both a compact SUV and a minivan. It has been a while since I have driven a minivan, but I have been told that I seem to drive more comfortably in bigger cars.
