Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hi there! My name is Mallory and I am an experienced childcare provider who has a passion for working with children. I recently graduated from Western University and completed my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology. I'm looking for a short term position with a family for the summer months, with the possibility of offering part-time help during the school year. I will beginning my career working for the Ottawa Catholic School Board in September. Previous Experience: I have over 6 years of experience working as a part-time/full-time nanny for numerous families, while also completing my undergraduate degree and Masters degree. I've cared for children as young as 4 months old to 10 years of age. While working for previous families, I was responsible for some meal prep, diaper changes, taking the kids to daily activities (pool, splash pad, library, park, etc.), drop off/pick up from school, and some light house cleaning/ tidying. I am a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, and have more than 7 years of experience guarding and teaching swimming lessons to children and teens of various ages. I also have previous experience as a private tutor. I provided tutoring in the following subjects: French, English and Math. Lastly, I have experience working as a Developmental Service Worker in a group-home environment where I supported young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Growing up, I was raised on a dairy farm outside of Ottawa, which made me extremely comfortable with all types of animals and pets. I've always been drawn to the outdoors and love spending time outside, either by the water, going for long bike rides or playing sports. Qualifications: I am a certified lifeguard with several lifeguard qualifications, such as First Aid & CPR, NLS and Swim Instructor. I also have my Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training and have training in the Nurtured Heart Approach. I have a recent and up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check. In addition to these qualifications, I also have a G license and my own personal vehicle. Education: I completed my undergraduate degree at Brock University in Speech and Language Sciences in the Spring of 2021.
