Hello! My name is Meghan. I have plenty experience with children of ALL ages (birth to age 12). My experience includes: working in childcare centres, nannying and babysitting for families. As an Early Childhood Educator/Nanny my duties include: - Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children while following all provincial childcare legislation, standards and policies. - Light housework and household errands - Planning, preparing and implementing developmentally age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity and learning and promote each child's developmental domains. These activities include telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, preparing craft materials and demonstrating their use, providing opportunities for creative expression through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical fitness, and taking the children to local points of interest, and planning outings and play groups. - Assess the skills, abilities, interests and needs of children. - Guide and assist children with healthy meals and snacks, dressing and toilet habits. Personal hygiene maintenance for the child - Establish and maintain communication with parents by observing and recording relevant information on each child's progress; including: child's meals, nap-time, medication, activities and educational progress. - Establish and maintain communication with staff and other community service providers, by observing and recording relevant information on each child's progress. - Attend meetings and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods. - Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours. - Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
