Nanny in Calgary, Alberta

Hi! My name is Eli and I am 27 years old. I am a very kind, empathic, and nurturing human who excels in working with young children. I'm currently seeking a full time, long term nanny position. I’ve been with my current family for 3.5 years and the time has unfortunately come for the little dude to start full time school. I’ve been nannying for 11 years, and babysitting for 16. Growing up, babies and children were my sole focus. I’ve always found myself gravitating towards that crying baby in the store to try to crack a smile out of them, or having many conversations with toddlers, and children wherever I find myself being. When I was 15, I owned a very successful babysitting business in Okotoks. I was so well known that the local newspaper approached me and did an entire, full page article on myself, and my business. I take pride in my knowledge, and experience in childcare and I hope to become a great fit for a new family! My ideal family would be kind, empathetic people who are allies to the LGBTQ community as I am trans. I am a big outdoors/sports person. I grew up playing basketball, soccer and hockey, but enjoy playing any kind of sport. I also love playing piano, rock climbing, snowboarding, and doing photography. I have my own photography business and love gifting parents professional photos of their kids. I’m a very creative, and art driven person. I love coloring, painting, play doh, clay, and crafts. I’m always on Pinterest looking for inspiration for a craft, or sensory activity to make with the kids I don’t typically do screen time (unless children are very sick and unable to play) instead, I prefer being busy and active. Taking the kiddos out for walks, playgrounds, zoo, science centre, play dates as well as being signed up for classes so we can meet new friends etc... I have a brand new, reliable vehicle as well as an insane amount of knowledge on car seat safety. You will never have to worry about a seat being properly installed, or your child buckled in correctly. I also own my own convertible car seat. I have a clean driving record and have been driving for 11 years. I am comfortable with overnights if you ever needed a night away too. I often have my best friend’s baby overnight to give her a wee break every odd weekend. I’ve been doing this since he was 6 weeks old. He’s now 2 and absolutely loves his sleep overs with me. My way of discipline is a soft & gentle approach. As many would call it “positive/gentle parenting”. I believe in diffusing the situation before giving the natural consequence. I use these skills in many different areas as well. Such as, naming and validating emotions, redirection, positive, affirming and encouraging wording. I am willing to do light household chores including, vacuuming and mopping once a week, keeping counters clean and wiped daily, any chore relating to children (ie. cleaning up playroom, keeping their room(s) tidy, stocked on diapers and wipes, children’s laundry, cleaning their and my own dishes etc) I am also happy to do errands.
