Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

Hello there! Nice to meet you! I'm a 34 year old Vancouverite and RN with 12 years of experience in healthcare, with extensive childcare experience as well. I am a non-smoker, COVID vaccinated x5 and Influenza 2024 vaccinated. Giving back in the community is a large portion of how I spend my free time. I'm a huge animal lover and our apartment is always overrun with foster kittens from the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association. I also enjoy volunteer work and have been a "Big Sister" with the Big Sisters Organization for over 6 years. I am a frequent blood donor and am proud to have almost reached my 25 donation milestone! I'm a confident swimmer, average piano player, and am learning guitar. I am fluent in French and English, and basic Spanish. I have a clear Criminal Record Check, and in addition, because of a nurse position at the Vancouver City Jail, I have been "Civilian Security Screened" which is a much more comprehensive background assessment. In cases where a client may request childcare at our apartment, my common-law partner of 10 years who lives with me also has a clear Criminal Record Check. I also maintain a yearly active BLS-CPR certification. I work part-time at a hospital, and am looking for a side hustle that sparks joy, which to me has always been nannying and babysitting! Currently, I am only looking for casual hours to fit around my part-time schedule as a nurse. In the future, I may be open to transitioning out of nursing into a full-time nanny position for the right family. My core values in regards to childcare include role modelling kindness, tolerance, and a healthy/active lifestyle. I will not practice discipline unless explicitly instructed to do so by a parent or guardian, and in such cases positive disciplinary techniques only will be used. I have held several childcare positions in the past including Au Pair, Princess Cruises Youth Counsellor, nanny/nurse care for young infants on TV/Film sets, nanny for private clients, and nanny via Nannies On Call. I would feel comfortable providing the following services: -Light housekeeping -Simple meal preparation -Basic tutoring and homework support -Leading/supervising activities and imaginative play -School or activities pick-up and drop-off (via walk, bus, ride share) -Childcare duties such as diaper changing, administering medications, feeding, nap/bathtime routines -Pet care -Travel -Frequent updates/check-ins with parents/guardians -Experienced with maintaining discretion for high profile clients -Seasonal yard care (snow shovelling, leaf raking, gardening) -Additional help for other individuals in the households, including senior care or personal assistant duties -Kitten therapy! (At our apartment, pending status of fosters at the time) -Please note I am not providing driving services at this time.
