Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hello all! My name is Alicia and I typically work as a lifeguard and swim instructor, but given the pandemic I've resigned from my position. Since the start of the pandemic I have began nannying families and have really enjoyed it! I've been working with kids for the past 3 years. I've worked with the City of Ottawa for two years (specifically with preschool, 4 and 5 year olds) and have grown to love helping little ones. I am well known in my area, as I have worked for multiple families, both nannying and babysitting. I'm bilingual, so I can offer you services in both English and French. I'm also very into theatre - Most recently I played Anna in the musical Frozen (I'm sure you know that one - "Let it go" Is like an anthem for all children ages 7 and under haha)... My favourite part was getting to sign autographs for little ones after the show... So cute. Favourites - All of the kiddos I’ve worked with have been WONDERFUL, they needed nap time to help them calm down and the occasional time out, but otherwise were very well behaved, used their pleases and thank you's, loved snuggles (which I love giving!), enjoyed singing to soothe them to sleep and loved story time. Least favourites - Screaaaaming! These kids in particular had school from 9-1 and of course; wanted to do everything but sit down and listen. I had to come up with some pretty creative ways of getting them to listen to their teachers (I gave them "body breaks" every hour, a countdown from 10 process where they shake every limb until we reach 0 and came up with a point system for good behaviour). I'm working towards a degree in Nutrition, but am taking this year off. My goal is to be a paediatric nutritionist in the near future. Look forward to hearing from you!
