Hi there! Welcome to my profile :) My name is Kirstyn Moffat and I am a 33-year-old gal from Ontario, who has successfully become a West Coaster over the past 10 years. I'm currently taking a beat from post secondary schooling and am welcoming in a lovely part time nanny role alongside my other part time job! If there is one thing I would like you to know about me it is that I am passionate about 3 things in life: connection, support, and kindness. My journey to date has been a beautiful unfolding. I began my childcare journey what now feels like a lifetime ago (but in reality, was but 8 years). I started with my schooling journey in Child and Youth Work, which opened doors to a wealth of experience working with Infants and Young Children within the adoption system, those struggling with developmental barriers and those that deserved and needed kindness and support. Moving forward I found myself in more light hearted roles with children. Running and organizing summer day camps, baby sitting and working in a day care. Soon, and not too surprisingly, I found myself in a more intimate role working with a family and their blossoming little girl. Here, is where my heart left my chest and found comfort, warmth, pride, and excitement. The first family I nannied for ended up becoming dear, close friends in my life. Their beautiful family of 5 (I'm including their two loving animals, as they of course, count), opened my heart and eyes to what can be possible when you extend yourself enough to give your gifts and receive something beautiful as well. I will never forget the profoundly special moments I spent with their little 1yr old, teaching her English, learning Spanish, spending time with her in my lap in their garden, reading to her, dancing in the rain, and soothing and offering compassion if ever she needed it. This led the way for my nanny career and later, Post Partum Doula career (I found my passion here - working with newborns and young babies. I'm something of a baby whisperer!) From this space, I nannied for 4 other beautiful families on the West Coast with their children ages 6mths - 3yrs. And one family of 2 (3 including their pupper) in Ontario. To this day, I feel so blessed for the experiences I have had, being an intimate part of those family's and their growing lives. The laughter I shared with all of those little ones still echoes in my heart. I do currently hold a valid CPR and First Aid Certificate and a clean Criminal Reference Check as well as a valid Driver's License. I love tea, and I love connecting so!
