Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, AODA (Accessibility for Ontarian with Disabilities Act) Hi! I am 23 years old international student from Singapore doing a Bachelors Degree in Psychology here in Ottawa! With my love of working with children, I have a warm and welcoming personality that makes it easy for children to be comfortable with me. Having 2 little siblings myself aged 9 and 11, I have a lot of experience in how to communicate, entertain and care for them. I am really versatile when it comes to activities for the kids. Some things i like doing while babysitting are: drawing/colouring, doing puzzles/games/word searches, playing sports activities and reading story books. My mother is a private english teacher for primary school children (6-12 year olds), and i worked as a teaching assistant at her tutoring centre for 2 years. I am therefore capable of doing simple teaching tasks for younger children such as letter writing exercises and basic english practice such as pronunciation, handwriting or even just to read simple books together to nurture their reading. I am also skilled in teaching basic english subjects such as essay writing, vocabulary building and comprehension. I currently work part-time at a Children's Daycare here in Ottawa which has granted me a strong foundation in monitoring children, basic educational approaches, managing up to 8 children at a time, and confidence in areas such as hygiene, empathy, problem-solving and much more. As I mentioned above, I am a very versatile person. Thus my services may not just be solely limited to babysitting, I can also help with minimal housework, daily needs of your family or other miscallaneous tasks as well. In terms of availability, I am pretty flexible! I am a supply part-time staff therefore I am only on-call and am not on contract, making my time even more flexible. I am currently on my school summer break, which I will be returning to a part time university degree in the fall, and can be pretty flexible as well!
