Hello! My name is Rachael - let me introduce myself a bit: I am a chipper and eager person. I enjoy being tested and challenged as I see it as a great way to grow into a better person and I am not afraid to ask questions in order to learn better. I have a passion for music. You'll often find me humming while doing work and one of my favorite activities is to sing and play guitar or piano. I spent a few years being classically trained in vocals and even sang with a "band" for a bit! I am a big creative - that means I find a lot of joy when it comes to crafting, making and creating. I'm also an exceptional baker and cook. In my hometown my chocolate chip cookies were known as one of the best! My experience with kids: I got my babysitting certificate when I was 13 and I babysat for a few family friends who had kids aged 2 - 6. A few years later, in the summer of 2018, I worked as an Intern at Camp Evergreen. During that Internship, I sat in on many talks and lessons about how to work and take care of kids while having loads of fun. This provided me with a lot of useful information that I still carry with me and put into use today. The next summer I worked as a full-time counsellor at Circle Square Ranch Camp in Halkirk. There, I also learned many more skills and I found it so much fun to build relationships with all the campers. At both camps, I worked with kids aged 5-14. The past year I have been able to spend more time with infants and toddlers which has increased my confidence to take care of them well.
