Who doesn’t like a dance party, karaoke or a lullaby. Fun wacky projects, or some relaxing sensory activities. I have many activities for a variety of ages and moods. I take inconsideration the child’s hobbies and interests to plan accordingly. I am able to adapt quickly to changing emotions and situations. I have something that everyone will love. I like to keep things spontaneous with new experiences and adventure! Nature is powerful, it has a big impact on children’s happiness and health. I plan on implementing daily outdoor activities consistent with your child’s developmental needs and enjoyments. I like to make obstacle courses that challenge children’s abilities and are lots of fun! I love to take kids on scavenger hunts. I like activities that give children Independence and creative expression. I am capable of cooking many different meals and am always open to trying new things! I have a passion for baking. Children's favourites are my hot chocolate bombs and cakesicles. I can cook and bake gluten free as well. I am aware of cross contamination and follow food safety standards. My previous job at a daycare, I dealt with many allergies and followed all proper sanitation rules of the facility. I have experience working as a nanny within a professional company and at a daycare with children 1-12 years of age and am a certified Child Care Assistant. After 5 months of working at the daycare I got promoted to an Inclusion Worker. I cared for a 3 year old boy with autism. That was when I knew I wanted to work with children in a more personal setting. I instantly felt a connection to the young boy and loved him like my own. I participated in intake and review meetings for the child with disabilities. Everyday I would fill out a daily report for the child’s parental guardians. I take the responsibility to share development as well as their joys and concerns of their children. Working with the child with autism I learnt a lot of “people games”. The child I cared for was non verbal. I have dealt with challenging behaviour, aggressive episodes like biting or hitting other children or myself. I have a gentle approach, I don’t like to yell. I will be firm and place proper discipline when needed. I encourage children to make their own decisions within reason to help develop problem-solving skills, communication, verbalizing feelings, thoughts and ideas. I will always honour providing a safe, nurturing and loving environment at all times!
