I just want to briefly take this opportunity to express just how excited I am about working with a family here in Montreal. I chose teaching as a career because of my passion for both children and lifelong learning. Since I am in the midst of learning French (in order to become certified to teach in Quebec in addition to Ontario) I thought that this would be a perfect match for me - as I get to learn French while also working with children on a daily basis. Certified Primary/Junior Teacher in Ontario * Teaching placements ranging from Gr. 1 - Gr. 6 * Was responsible for behavioural management, differentiated instruction/assessment and overall well-being of students (ages 6-12). * Always strived to work 'with' the children in order to come up with fun and engaging ways to learn. Student/child interests are always key elements in my teaching and caregiving methods. 2. Teacher in Busan, South Korea (2 years) * Taught students from the ages of 3 to 17 years. * Helped organize and run school summer camps (English classes, games, arts & crafts and music). 3. Caregiver for niece (1 year) * Was a live in caregiver for my sister's child (my niece - 1.5 years old) for 9 months prior to leaving for South Korea. * Was responsible for feeding, bathing, changing, dressing and entertaining her while parents were at work. 4. Babysitter (4-5 years on and off) * Babysat numerous children from the time I was 13 until 18. * Responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch or dinner (dependent on child and time of day, playing with children, helping with homework, bathing, and putting them to bed. * Organized and partook in many games, arts & crafts and other activities to keep children constantly interested and entertained.
