I am a honest, friendly, thoughtful person who really does enjoy watching children develop through their various stages of progression both intelluctually and socially. I enjoy fostering their independence and their sense of fun. I believe children keep a person young -- I would not be outside chasing around a soccer ball or going down a slide if it were not for the two children I take care of now. I also believe in structure and discipline for children. I do not use any method of discipline other than what the parents have suggested. Before using the time out method or whatever is used by the parents I find it very easy to talk with a child to correct behaviour. Since May of 2009, I have been employed as a live-in caregiver for two children now ages 5 and 2 1/2 years. I have also raised two lovely daughters of my own. One is presently married and the other is in university. My duties with the two children I currently care for begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. I take them on outings to the park, the library, childen\\\'s programs in town, etc. I prepare their meals, do their laundry, help them to tidy their rooms. I read to them, teach them games and songs, and have taught the five year old how to print and some grade 1 math. I\\\'m presently potty training the 2 1/2 year old, and he is also learning how his alphabet and counting. Before relocating to Alberta, I worked for 20 years with the Department of Justice in Saskatchewan and part-time for 15 years with the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly. I have no criminal record or child abuse record. I am a christian. I am honest, friendly, love children and enjoy watching them progress both intellectually and socially.
