Here is a little bit about me... As I mentioned, I am 23 years old, living in Vancouver, and currently a student at UBC. I went to and graduated from West Point Grey Academy, which I strongly believe played a large role in forming my love for child care. I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree, majoring in Social Justice, and minoring in Special Education. From this, I hope to take my master's in Counselling Psychology, focusing specifically on young children. Throughout the years, I have worked summer jobs as a camp counsellor for young children (ranging from ages 3-10) and at a workout studio (The Dailey Method) that had "childminding". This is a program set up to allow new Mom's to bring in their babies and/or toddlers to the studio. While the new Mom's do their workout, the children are taken care of, played with, fed, changed, etc. by a caretaker (myself). In addition to this, I also have a four-year-old little sister, who has taught me so much over the past four years about child care and caring for a young baby/toddler. Through taking care of her, my desire to get into the field of child care has increased and my skills in regard to taking care of young children, along with the qualities needed in order to do so, have improved and grown immensely. I am an incredibly hardworking, dedicated, patient, outgoing, loving, and social person, I adore playing with little kids, I adore creating activities for them to enjoy and to keep them busy and entertained! These qualities, I believe, are essential in the field of childcare. In regards to what services I provide, I love to cook and am always more than happy to make and/or prepare meals for children, whether that be full meals or snacks throughout the day. I also have a car, therefore, I am able to drive children to any activities and/or appointments needed. I am also happy to do some housework like cleaning and laundry if needed. And lastly, I am certified in First Aid by the Red Cross, as I want all parents who leave their children with me to feel like they are in good hands. Lastly, because I am also a full-time student, I would only be able to work 2-3 times during the week as of September but I am also more than happy to occasionally take shifts on the weekend when needed. Please contact me by phone number (604-818...) if you are interested or have any further questions! I look forward to hearing from you :)
