Nanny in Sherwood Park, Alberta

Who I Am: Nice to meet you! My name is Taryn and I’m located in Sherwood Park (I do have a drivers license access to a vehicle so I’m happy to travel up to 25 km). I'm just finishing my second year of Midwifery education. As a midwifery student I’m required to update my first aid, CPR, and police record check every summer, and spend my time at school learning to keep calm in emmergency situations, and care for all kinds of families. I'd love to find a family looking for a regular summer schedule. I can do occasional weekends, but hoping to enjoy some weekends out of town as well this summer while I'm between school semesters! I'm off from mid-April until the end of August. I have been doing childcare for almost 10 years, with experience with children from newborn to 12 years old (but could easily watch/hangout with older children if needed). I have also worked with families with 1-6 children. Most recently, I've done lots of nanny/respite work with a family with a 4 year old boy with global developmental delays and ASD. We had lots of fun going swimming, going to the park and library, and doing speech therapy/physiotherapy activities! Last summer, I worked with a family that had an 18 month old toddler, and absolutely loved that as well. I'm going back to working with that same family this summer a couple days a week, so hoping to fill my other hours with another family! I also have experience with cooking (including taking culinary arts in highschool, and having all my foodsafe certifications), and am happy to help with cooking and meal prep as needed depending on wage. Abilities: I can help children with homework, care for pets (I have a small hypoallergenic dog myself), help with cleaning, prepare and cook meals, and provide transportation for children as I have a drivers license and car. I also love to travel and camp, so if you're for the possibility of a nanny to join you and help keep an eye on the kids during a trip or allow for a date night while out of town, we could look at that possibility! I also teach beginner piano as I have my Grade 8 RCM practical and theoretical certification, and could teach your children for an additional charge if you are interested! I am also available to watch very young children in my own home if you would prefer (infants/toddlers under 3 years). I live in a single family home with my parents.
