I had to close my daycare 2 years ago due to some family struggles. I had to move home for a couple years to help out and am now back in Saskatoon I have 20 years experience with children from newborn-13 years old. I have nannied for a few families in the past as well as worked in a couple day care centers and homes before opening my own home for childcare in 2021. I am constantly taking personal development classes/courses most recently an awesome emotion regulation course for children and cognitive behavioural therapy. I am about to finish my first year of Early childhood education I have been taking online distance learning through saskpolytech. I have a five year old son 50% of the time. He will be attending kindergarten full time however. I practice gentle/ respectful parenting techniques and I also encourage independence, risky play and curious exploration through play-based learning. I do sign language with the kids and most of our time is spent in nature whenever possible. Aside from childcare my other passions are food and plants. I am a permaculture design consultant and have taken courses in wild and edible plants of the prairies, herbalism, foraging, mushroom cultivation, master composting, gardening by the moon etc. In the summer months I also do freelance landscape and gardening work on the weekends or any free time. I also am on the board of the permacuture research institute of saskatchewan. I have taken courses in basic nutrition, cooking with whole foods and my food safe bc. I avoid refined sugars and heavily processed food as much as possible. I have a lot of experience cooking vegan whole foods as well as meat diets and very good with allergies and substitutions. My son and I love cooking and baking together. I have my first aid and cpr b and a clean criminal record check including vulnerable sectors. I'd be happy to answer any other questions u may have.
