I love to bake, play games, read and go for walks, park outings and zoo trips. Weekly library trips are my favourite thing!! I have a wealth of experience and education, raised my own large family and have volunteered with young children my whole adult life. Some of my Interests include gardening, reading, hiking, ballet, theatre, music, artsy film and spending time cooking for family and friends. I have been a professional nanny for almost 6 years working with young children 7 months to 12 years old and have had a successful career helping support a myriad of families. My own grandchildren, unfortunately live in the U.S. and that is why Nannying is such an important part of my life. I studied English Literature in University, I am a private piano instructor and hold Certificates in Event Planning, Entrepreneurship and Image Management. I am a lifelong learner and encourage this love of learning in the children I care for. I have researched extreme picky eating habits in order to be more useful to my former employer. In the summer of 2018, I met Kathleen while she was caring for young two boys. Kathleen noticed my son and I at the park and approached us. With us living close by, she thought it would be a great idea to set up a playdate as the youngest boy she cared for and my son were the same age. We exchanged numbers and began weekly playdates. Kathleen is extremely friendly, approachable, warm, caring and nurturing. I’ve seen firsthand the incredible care she provides for the two boys. Kathleen is always taking them to fun and educational places such as Telus Spark, Zoo, library programs and parks. I admire that she’s always fully engaged and present with them – giving them her full attention. Kathleen provides warm hugs, a shoulder to let frustrations out on and guidance without over stepping her boundaries as a Nanny. She is an excellent cook and baker and always prepares and ensures the boys have healthy snacks and meals. Additionally, Kathleen is constantly reading books to help manage and overcome typical child behaviours (picky eaters, behavioural issues, toilet training). In addition to providing exceptional care for the two boys, she also ensures the house is in working order and hot meals are on the table. When we go over for playdates, Kathleen always has a fun craft or activity set up for the boys. She goes above and beyond in providing developmentally appropriate activities for them.
