Nanny in Le Vieux-Longueuil, Quebec

Hi lovely families! My name is Auriana, and I am an experienced nanny and caregiver based in central AB. (Looking to relocate to a new city to experience something different!) I've had multiple caregiving roles over the last 10 years, all of which I've absolutely loved and had wonderful experiences with. My two most recent positions each lasted for one year; I worked as a live-in caregiver for a disabled teenage boy in England in 2019. His neurodegenerative disease prevented him from engaging in any verbal communication. As his caregiver, I learned to communicate with him through a modified version of sign language. His condition changed by the week, and it was my job to adapt to each change and maintain the necessary flexibility to provide him with the best possible comfort and care. The nature of his illness necessitated full time care which was provided by myself and his other caregivers- we were responsible for administering his medication, providing all of his hygiene needs, assisting him to and providing constant stimulation and socializing. During the pandemic, I moved to Banff where I resumed my role as a live in caregiver for a 93 year old woman. Though she was impressively independent, I assisted her with many daily tasks including meal preparation, getting her dressed and ready, companionship and much more. I've remained very close with her wonderful family. I've been very fortunate to live and work all over Europe- I've taught English to children and adults in Russia and Lithuania, I've helped run a summer camp for kids in Spain and I've studied in Southern Hungary. In addition to my caregiving and photography background, I'm also a certified yoga instructor which is a huge passion of mine. Aside from that, I'm very interested in reading (huge fan of Russian literature!), learning languages (Norwegian at the moment!), attending live music and ballet performances and being out in nature! I've been so grateful for the families I've worked with who have really made me feel like one of their own- I prefer caregiving environments where the nanny is really integrated into the family and treated as such, so if this sounds like you, I would love to chat!
