With about 5 years of professional experience with children I have discovered that my biggest joy is being able to make a difference in a child's life. Most recently I have been working in-home with a family who's child has behavioural problems. I enjoy helping them stay strong and figure out what is best for their child. Before that I have worked inclusion support in a montessori kindergarten class, substituting in a montessori school for ages 1-5, teaching in a catholic-based daycare in a room of 32 children ages 3-5, teaching in several different daycare rooms with children of all ages, and substituting for the in-house daycare cook who provided two snacks and a lunch to approx. 200 children daily. The things I most enjoy doing with children are arts and crafts, reading, story-telling with props, singing and interactive games and including children in day-to-day activities. I love to see children learn and gain better understanding of the world. I generally work with the base idea of positive reinforcement. I believe that if you treat a child as if they are smart, beautiful, generous and kind person, they will have the confidence to become those things. I am good with all kinds of pets. Starting in January I will be in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and available all other days of the week! At this time I DO NOT have a drivers license or a vehicle.
