About Me: Hello! My name is Erin and caring for children is my passion in life. I have been babysitting for over ten years now, and would love to take that experience and take it to the next level by becoming a nanny. My ultimate goal is to become a preschool teacher. Description of Skills: I am more than capable of caring for children of all ages, from newborn to 12 years old. I have been a certified babysitter since age 12, and have taken college-level psychology courses pertaining to childhood development. I am set to begin Early Childhood Development courses this winter (in the evenings). I tend to use my time with kids teaching them to learn their ABCs and about the world around them through games and activities. I spend most evenings building up my repertoire of stimulating activities for children of all ages, because I know that busy children are more willing and able to learn and less likely to engage in mischievous behaviour. More importantly, my favourite pastime is to play with kids; seeing the wonder in their eyes and the joy on their faces as their creativity and intelligence shine through is a very rewarding experience. I speak three languages:English, French and American Sign Language (ASL). I have had a lot of training in first aid and infant/child CPR; my certification recently expired but I am looking to get re-certified in mid-July. I also love animals, so if you have pets I can care for them as well. Lastly, I can cook meals. I am no professional chef, but I am generally good in the kitchen (especially at baking!)
