Nanny in Oshawa, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
As a caregiver, I rely on Maslow's hierarchy of needs I think no matter which job it is this is very important to have at the core of what you're doing because these stages, if not met during any part of the child's development, is detrimental to the well being. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is 1. physiological 2. safety 3. love and belonging 4. esteem and 5. self-actualizations. I integrate my university education in Psychology, Certified Early Childhood Educator Assistant, and general love for children to make the best of every job and experience for the child, parent, and me. I am available as required for babysitting, and for nannying need a set schedule with guaranteed hours as is the industry nanny standard. Some flexibility is understandable. I've worked in Childcare on and off for 10 years. I ran my own babysitting business from 12-18 years old consistently. Then, during university, I worked in a summer nanny position. (In 2020) Intensive ECE shadowing at a daycare for my co-op hours for my ECA Certification. In this position I made the most difference working 1 on 1 with a girl we suspected was on the spectrum who had major difficulties, by the end I had my supervisor's verbal recommendation to go in work with children with ADD and Autism. Most recently worked, In a travel nanny position where I was recruited and wage assessed by a nanny agency ($35/hr). Then hired by Edward's Jones Financial Group through the agency to run a daycare room for their employees during a convention. I have obtained my CRP-C & first aid adult and pediatric, infection and prevention certificate, food handlers certification, Mental Health First Aid Certification, WHIMIS. I am 90 percent through an honors Major in Psychology with a minor in Sociology both of which had university-level courses about child development and families throughout the life course. I also have a recent (2020) background check for the vulnerable, for volunteer work I completed with Veterans and seniors with dementia and Alzheimers. I have worked with children who: • Speech impediments • Severe allergies • Needs for medication • Separation anxiety • Autism • ADD I can provide; play date supervision, reading books, child development-led activities, homework supervision, etc. I have experience with newborns to 14-year-olds. Unfortunately, I do not drive, so I'm looking for those very close to public transit unless you are providing transit. Let's Connect: message me about you, your family, and your specific nanny expectations and duties. Can't wait to get to know you. (I am interviewing for a caregiver placement in Bowmanville, Oshawa, or anywhere in the Durham Region/Toronto that has close and ample public transit routes. If that is not possible then as long as transportation is provided all is well.) .
