Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Hello beautiful families, A little about me! My name is Helene, I am a 24-year-old female, originally from Kingston, Ontario, and I am open to care opportunities in JAMES BAY, Victoria, BC. I am very passionate about health, fitness (weightlifting and yin yoga), whole and local foods, personal development, lifelong learning, taking care of people, outdoor and experiential education, hiking, biking, being outside. I currently work at Lululemon here in Victoria, am also a personal trainer (with my Girl Gone Strong Women's Coaching Specialist Certification), and am in my last year of studies to complete my undergraduate degree in health and environmental studies from Queen's University, online. My work experience is quite diverse. I have significant leadership experience in the restaurant industry. This work has taught me mountains about people and managing stressful situations calmly and consciously. It has also developed my time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure. I have also worked in various teaching, coaching, and program facilitating roles for youth and adults from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to as: an education assistant at a community arts hub for adults with intellectual disabilities, as a volunteer refugee resettlement service liaison for new refugees to my hometown of Kingston, Ontario, and as both a special needs and competitive cheerleading coach. I have always loved kids so much and have extensive babysitting experience throughout my life. I am always happy to apply what I have learned through all of the above roles, happy to help with homework/tutoring where needed. Looking a little further into the future, I will be applying for midwifery school at UBC. This is a strong calling of mine, and I am very excited to be lining up the pieces to start pursuing this career. I JUST moved to Victoria on October 5th with the intention to expand my connections, community, and practice in the health and wellness field and I am VERY excited to be here. Once admitted to UBC midwifery, I plan on completing year one of the program online from Victoria, and then to continue with my placement in Victoria in my second year of studies, as I intend to ground here and make Victoria my long-term home. The thought occurred to me that nannying would be a wonderful way to start making some connections in my new community, while working with kids (which I love), and supporting and contributing to the health and well-being of a family system. I am open to: nannying/babysitting, dog-walking, personal training, and/or family health planning work in the James Bay or Downtown Victoria area. I do not have a vehicle at the moment, and as such I am looking specifically for nannying/babysitting work that is in walking/biking distance from my area. Thank you for your understanding. Please don't hesitate to be in touch if you are looking for personal training support out of this distance range, as I do have a platform through which I offer this online, and will eventually be taking in-person clients at a local gym here in Victoria as well. On that note, I teach strength and conditioning as a holistic process - not just working on the physical plane, but rather strength and conditioning the being. Moulding our bodies, minds, and souls like clay into the essences that our intuition knows we are capable of becoming. With a holistic view, my personal training practice includes functional strength, flexibility, and flow; weightlifting, mobility work, yin stretching, breathwork techniques, meditation and mindfulness practices, morning/evening routines, nutritional guidance, and nature/earthing prescriptions, always catered to the client with highly tuned individuality. I teach with a focus of aiming for quality and sustainability in all holistic health aspects – in food, movement, and sleep. The ultimate achievement of my practice is to help guide my clients towards achieving long-term, sustainable health, performance, and lifelong physical activity habits and wellness practices that enhance their experience of holistic healthful alignment, and therefore also their quality of life. I have also linked my Instagram account below, which I welcome you to take a peek at, to see how I move within this practice! https://....com/ Moving forward! I would love to hear more about what kind of support you are looking for for your family, and how we may be able to co-create this fall/winter/onwards given my background and what I can bring to the table. I am very open to jumping on a FaceTime to chat further if our profiles feel they match well, so I can introduce myself face-to-face, and we can see if this feels like an aligned match for both of us. If all of the above sounds positive to you so far, please send me a message and I would love to pass along my email/cell for further communications. Looking forward to hearing from you all and much love for a beautiful rest of your week! Best, Helene
